The Desert Sage

none
The Desert Sage is published six times a year as the Section's official newsletter by the Desert Peaks Section of the Angeles Chapter of the Sierra Club. It costs ten dollars a year to subscribe to the Sage. Anyone can subscribe to the Sage, even if not a member of the DPS or the Sierra Club, by sending $10 to the DPS Membership Chair. Non members who subscribe to the Sage are not allowed to vote in our elections.
The first 293 issues of the Desert Peaks Section Newsletter are available on compact disk in the HTML format. This disk also inclues many photographs from the early days of the Section. Many of these photographs have only recently become available. This compact disk is in HTML format so it can be read by many operating systems. Over 7,500 pages and over 6,600 images with nearly 1,300 quality photographs of members are contained on the CD. It is available for $28.00 plus $2.00 postage and handling.   Mail your orders to the DPS Merchandiser, 11946 Downey Avenue, Downey, CA 90242. Make check payable to The Desert Peaks Section. Sorry, we cannot process credit cards. Do not send cash. Proceeds from the sale of merchandise are used for the operating expenses of the Section.

none Issues of the Desert Sage from number 294, November - December 2004 to number 312, November -December 2007, are available on this website for viewing or downloading in the Adobe Acrobat format. none

Submitting Articles

We welcome all articles and letters pertaining to outdoor activities of interest to DPS members. Some submittals tend to be too long and space limitations and other considerations are factors in the decision to publish an article. The editor may modify submittals in a perhaps misguided attempt to ease clarity or decrease length but will hopefully not modify your meaning. Send copy to our Editor, Bob Sumner prior to the odd-numbered months. E-Mail usually works well and you can normally attach a file to the Email message. Occasionally E-Mail fails to arrive, so I will reply to an E-Mail submittal with a message saying I've received it. If you do not receive a confirmation of my receiving your E-Mail submittal you might want to inquiry or resend the copy.
