The Banquet Committee is extremely pleased to announce this year’s keynote speaker: Jason "Journeyman" Wise. You might recognize him from TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram! His passion is truly infectious! Jason is a Certified California Naturalist, environmental educator, conservationist, trail guide, photographer, LGBTQ activist, and writer, with a masters degree (MPP) in environmental policy. He believes that access to and education around nature creates environmental advocates.

ICO Gift Wrapping Fundraiser: A Huge Success!!

The holiday spirit was soaring high on the 23rd and 24th of December 2023, during our annual ICO gift wrapping fundraiser. Every year, we organize this event to aid our efforts in facilitating outdoor trips for students enrolled in the Title I schools we collaborate with in the Los Angeles and Orange counties. During the 2022-2023 school year, our Angeles ICO leaders led 84 trips for 2530 students from marginalized communities within the area.

Some exciting news for the Angeles Chapter Library!! After much-expressed interest and enthusiasm from members surrounding the induction of the new Library Committee, we’d like to invite you to join our first official meetings. Member involvement and commitment will be tailored to your schedule and can be as flexible as you need. The Library Committee is a space for members to build community, connect through the shared delight of reading, propose and plan future library events, upkeep the library, raise funds for the library, etc.

How do you measure the love that goes into a place? One way would be to count the thousands of pounds of supplies that have been hauled nearly a thousand vertical feet up the trail, on people's backs, to build the San Antonio Ski Hut.

In this pivotal time, the Sierra Club is gearing up to support environmental champions and combat polluter-backed candidates across the state of California. As part of this mission, we recently celebrated our 16th annual Sierra Club Political Leadership Awards fundraiser, an event that embodies our commitment to equity, democracy, and sustainability.

Pro-Cyclist Phil Gaimon Hosts Events in Support of the Angeles Chapter

Phil Gaimon, who refers to himself as a retired pro-cyclist (he calls it the “worst retirement ever”), is passionate about many things including cycling, his lovely wife, his adorable dogs, cookies, and the environment.
