Angeles Chapter Partners Up With Warner Bros.

Warner Bros. Entertainment employees voted for the Angeles Chapter as a community partner for Impact, the Warner Bros. Giving Program. Launched in 2008, Impact is one facet of the company's comprehensive philanthropy program. Through Impact, Warner Bros. encourages its employees all over the world to engage with local communities, particularly in the areas of youth enrichment, community engagement, and environmental stewardship.

The process to become a partner organization is competitive: To qualify for] partnership, organizations must be 'established, well-respected, charitable organizations that represent Warner Bros. focus areas in philanthropy and community involvement.' Once a short list is approved employees are asked to vote for their top 12 organizations, which change every two years.

Senior Chapter Director Ron Silverman was responsible for advocatiflg for Sierra Club's inclusion in the program. Ron represented the Chapter at a recent Impact event on the Warner Bros. lot and was 'elated by the interest and enthusiasm for Sierra Club that Warner Bros. employees expressed.'

Through the Impact Program, Warner Bros. employees can elect to make financial con- tributions to partner organizations, which are matched by Warner Bros. up to $1,000 per employee per year. The company also encourages employees to donate their time and talents by volunteering, going so far as to allot one business day per month for such pursuits.

Warner Bros.' partnership with the Angeles Chapter is just the latest addition to a decades-long commitment to conservation and sustainabitity. Having initiated a company-wide energy saving program in 1999, to this day Warner Bros. continues to be a leader in reducing energy use and waste and investing in clean, renewable energy and green building initiatives. Through its Clean Air Club, Warner Bros. also encourages its employees to minimize their carbon footprints by carpooling1 bicycling, or walking.
