Angeles Chapter Awards: Celebrating Grassroots Activism

Do you know of a fellow Angeles Chapter member who volunteers tirelessly in service to the Club through conservation, outings, activism, or advocacy? The Chapter Awards Committee wants your ideas on awards candidates. Among the over 42,000 members in LA and Orange County, there are many hard-working volunteers who give their time to the Sierra Club and the Chapter.

This is your chance to congratulate an individual, a task force, or an entity with an Angeles Chapter award. You don't need to be a long-time member to receive an Angeles Chapter award - we celebrate veterans, rookies and past awardees with Chapter awards. Any Chapter member or entity management committee can nominate another member for an award. Exceptions: Current At-Large Angeles Chapter Executive Committee and Awards Committee members are NOT eligible; nor are deceased Sierra Club members eligible posthumously. Preference goes to candidates that have received little to no recent recognition. HOW DO I NOMINATE ANOTHER MEMBER FOR AN AWARD? Review the awards list and other information and complete the downloadable form. Please return the form and any additional background information on your candidate to Lori Ives, Committee Clerk, Lori Ives (email preferred), or by postal mail to Lori at 112 N. Harvard Ave, PMB 297, Claremont, CA 91711-4716. Background material on awardees will be included in the AwardsBanquet program and in the Southern Sierran.

Awards nominations are due no later than Monday, November 1, 2010, but they will be accepted any time before that date. Earlier is better! Late applications will be held over for next year's awards. The Awards Committee looks forward to receiving your nominations!!
