SOUTHERN SIERRAN'S WEBMASTER PERFORMS AT EARTH DAY'S CELEBRATION
BY Michelle Mocarski
Stephanie Erdel, Southern Sierran's own webmaster, will be performing with her band, Monogroove, next Sunday, April 26th at the Veggie Pride Parade, a celebration of Earth Day promoted by vegetarian activists. The celebration will start at 11 AM, when activists will meet at the Culver Events, leaving at noon for a 5-K walk through Venice. The concerts will start at 2PM, after the march, along with special guests' presentations, costume contests and vegan food.
Erdel, whose eclectic music background also includes a pop/rock/blues solo project, plays the tambourine and the vocals for Monogroove, a Los Angeles-based upcoming band that plays Indie Pop music, with influences by The Birds, Bob Dylan, The Kinks and The Beatles, with a vibe reminiscent of the old mid-to-late 60's music mixed with modern. Monogroove is an animal-friendly band: for every CD sold, they give 10% out to Much Love Animal Rescue (www.muchlove.org), an animal rescue organization that saves the lives of thousands of cats and dogs every year.
The Veggie Pride Parade will meet at Culver Events on 11948 W. Washington Blvd, in Los Angeles. For more information visit http://veggiepridela.com.
