Vicente Baldwin, a long-time and valued leader for Inner City Outings (ICO), died suddenly due to a heart attack in February. He was only 44 years old.

Vicente Baldwin

Vicente was a giving and positive ICO leader and wonderful with the children. The young people he led on day hikes and camping trips loved his warmth and playful sense of humor. At the same time, the adults with whom he co-lead outings appreciated that he always took a common sense leadership role.

Vicente began his career in his native Mexico City after graduating with a degree in photography. He worked in the television industry, including an 8-year stint for Televisa, a major Spanish-language television conglomerate. Vicente's photographs have been published in several magazines and in at least five collective exhibits in various galleries. In the U.S., he received accolades for his work as a writer-director and as an independent producer-director. He enjoyed taking photographs on ICO outings and shared them generously. As webmaster for ICO, he posted photographs and videos that greatly enhanced the ICO website.

For all his contributions, his warmth, and his generosity, Vicente will be sorely missed.
