AUGUST 9 - AUGUST 17 SATURDAY - SUNDAY  
O:  NORTHERN YOSEMITE LAKES & CANYONS:
  Challenging 52 mile shuttle trip, 4000’ gain backpack beginning at the Glen Aulin trailhead and ending at Twin Lakes through the incredibly beautiful Northern Yosemite backcountry.  Starting at Tuolomne Meadows, we’ll begin a long downhill stretch through Glen Aulin along the Tuolomne River down the Grand Canyon of the Tuolomne to Pate Valley. From there we’ll head north to Bear Valley for a short stay at Bear Valley Lake, one of the finest swimming lakes in the Sierras. Continuing north through Kerrick Canyon we’ll make another short stay at the beautiful and isolated Arndt Lake.  We’ll complete the journey through Rock Island Pass for our final descent to the Twin Lakes.  Magnificent streams, beautiful vistas, powerful waterfalls, tranquil lakes and unparalleled beauty are promised on this trek that will provide you with years of memories of both the grandeur of the Sierras and the challenge of the adventure. O: MAMMOTH LAKES BUS LODGE TRIP:

Not a backpack. Join us as we hike and sightsee at spectacular Mammoth Lakes.  No beginners. Leave Friday afternoon, return Monday evening. Moderate hiking with great views.  See famous tufa towers at Mono Lake (nominal entrance fee).  Relax at night with dining, dancing, self-guided evening walks. Space is very limited. Cost includes bus, 3 nights lodging in Mammoth Lakes plus MONDAY. night dinner. All persons own bed. Send 2 4X9 SASE, H&W phones, SC#, check (Sierra Club) $390 per person. Non-member add $35. O: MAMMOTH LAKES BACKPACK BUS TRIP: Leave LA Friday eve for 3 day  moderate‑plus level backpacking. Sat hike from Agnew Meadows on River Trail 7 mi (1,500' gain) to base camp (2 magnificent nights) at Rosalie Lake (9,250") passing Shadow Lake en route. Sunday layover day for optional  hike.   Monday continue on John Muir Trail 8 mi (300' gain, 1,600' loss) to meet bus. Share bus with two other groups. $155 wSC#/$170 non‑member includes bus, camp and entrance fees, and Monday day dinner and bus refreshments. : Leave Friday pm for moderate 3-day trip to one of the most beautiful High Sierra regions. Spectacular views of Ritter, Banner and Minarets with idyllic Thousand Island and Garnet Lakes for camp sites. The backpack is 18 mi loop from Agnew Meadows with 3000' gain. Trip subject to change depending on permit. No beginners. Includes bus, all fees, and Monday day dinner. O: 34th ANNUAL HAWAIIAN ISLANDS BACKPACK & CABINS/DAY HIKES:  MOLOKA’I - THE FRIENDLY ISLE
No backpacking. This is a rare opportunity for an adventure into old, historic, uncrowded Hawai’i. There are only 7,500 residents and no stoplights! Our first trip there in 20 years. Trip includes:  3 nights in our own exclusive, private Miller Molokai villa, overlooking Papohaku Beach, the longest in Hawaii; 4 nights at Puu O Hoku (Hill of Stars), a14,000 acre organic farm in the lush east Molokai mountains (optional horseback riding – extra cost); hike two miles into private Halawa Valley to Moaula Falls, swim in pool; hike down to Kalaupapa National Historical Park, for a guided tour of this historic peninsula (6 miles RT, 1,700’ loss/gain - optional mule ride instead of hike –extra cost), where Father Damien helped the deserted lepers
