Monday, Sept 8, 2008, 7:00 P.M. - New Members and Ice Cream
This is our annual meeting to invite one or several person(s) who might be interested in joining the Sierra Club to have some ice cream and light talk. Kate Allen will review the activities of our local group, Charlie Brown will discuss conservation issues, Nate Krumm will review progress on the proposed local wilderness on Pleasant View Ridge, and Tom Shaffer will discuss some local outings in the works. Jim Dodson and others will make a few comments on local, chapter and national events happening with the Sierra Club.

We will all enjoy several types of ice cream with toppings. So bring your appetite and anyone you know who might be interested. Let's have fun as we kick-off our new season.

For old and new members, new ideas for trips, outings, social events and environmental activities are always welcomed. Management Committee Meeting at 6:30pm.

Monthly General Meetings of the Antelope Valley Group of the Sierra Club are held on the second Monday of the month, in the Chimbole Cultural Center, next to the Palmdale City Library on the southeast corner of Sierra Hwy & Palmdale Blvd. The Management Committee meets at 6:30 pm, and the general meeting begins at 7:00 pm.

First & Third Mondays at the Village Grill. Are you interested in local environmental issues? Join the group at the Village Grill in Lancaster on Sierra Highway just south of Avenue J at 6:00 p.m. on the first and third Mondays of each month. You'll be able to enjoy good food in the company of like-minded people, and will learn about local issues and how to get involved.
