Southern Sierran
What have you done for Planet Earth lately?

Dee packs it out for the Chapter.

Once a month Dee Shaddock comes into the Chapter office and collects material the building doesn’t recycle. That’s mostly overruns of the Southern Sierran and whatever bottles, cans, and cardboard that accumulate. She ferries them down to her Toyota van on a dolly then puts them into her home recycling bins the city of L.A. provides. “If I have too much, which I often do, I’ll put them in my neighbor’s,” said Dee. The task takes her three or four hours and she’s been doing it since she answered a call in this paper a year and a half ago. “I figured it was something I could do,” said the O-rated leader. “It justifies my van.”

Let us know what you’ve done for Planet Earth lately. Send messages to Southern Sierran or Editor, 3435 Wilshire Blvd., Ste. 320, L.A., 90010-1906.
