Angeles Chapter Listservers
A Listserv is a subscriber email list, with added features, that generally
makes communication easier by email or web. The Angeles Chapter has several
lists serving our members. Some are open to all, others have restricted
membership. If you are new to listservs, you may wish to look at our introductory
page.
Open Lists
The following lists are open and can be subscribed to by anyone. Click on

ANGELES-ALERTS
The ANGELES-ALERTS list is a list sponsored by the Angeles Chapter. The
purpose of the list is to notify Angeles Chapter members about conservation
issues, news updates, and actions they can take.
This list is open to the public.
Only editors of ANGELES-ALERTS may post to the list.
ANGELES-GLS-NEWS
The purpose of this list is to announce urgent messages to the membership
of the Angeles Chapter Gay and Lesbian Sierrans, such as outings changes
or conservation alerts.
ANGELES-HPS-OUTINGS
The purpose of this announcement list is to communicate official Hundred
Peaks Section
(HPS) business to HPS hikers, including:
- Conservation information that HPS hikers would be interested in.
- Up-coming authorized HPS outings and only authorized outings. Private
hikes could not be posted to this list, only hikes approved per the
chapter's safety committee approval process.
- HPS outing cancellations and postponements.
- Road, trail, and other route information of interest to HPS hikers
- Upcoming events that HPS hikers would be interested in
Anyone may subscribe to this list and receive messages, but only the

ANGELES-OUTINGS-FORUM
This is a forum for discussion of the Angeles Chapter’s outdoor activities
program. Particular topics include: outings management and its reorganization,
leader training and certfication, and outings safety, approval, and publication.
Membership is limited to Sierra Club members. Outings chairs, leaders,
provisional leaders, and participants are especially encouraged to participate.
Please keep all discussion civil and on-topic.
All messages sent to the ANGELES-OUTINGS-FORUM list or replied to it will
be forwarded to all subscribers to the list and will be archived on the
Sierra Club’s listserv website. Please read and follow the Sierra Club’s

ANGELES-CONSERVATION
The Angeles Chapter has established this discussion list for Sierra Club
activists working on conservation issues in Orange and Los Angeles Counties
of Southern California. Topics of current interest include: public lands,
coastal and wetlands protection, urban sprawl and development, and ecological
restoration. New subscribers are requested to post an introductory message
stating name, Sierra Club section, regional group/chapter, and conservation
issue(s) of particular interest. Subscribers should please refrain from
forwarding postings from this list to other recipients without obtaining
prior permission from the author. At this time, subscriptions to this
list are open to anyone interested in Angeles Chapter conservation issues.
Subscribers should be aware that there is, therefore, no assurance of
confidentiality for any information posted here. This list is not moderated.
ANGELES-ECC-COMM
The purpose of this list is to facilitate communications among members of the
Angeles Chapter's Electronic Communication Committee, webmasters, listowners,
and other chapter members. This list is open to Sierra Club members only.
ANGELES-EXCOM
The purpose of this list is to facilitate the communication among the
members of the Angeles Chapter Excom. This list is limited to the members
and staff of the Angeles Chapter's Executive Committee.
Subscription to this list is at the discretion of the list owner.
ANGELES-GLS-FORUM
This is a discussion list for rated leaders, provisional leaders, Management
Committee members, and other interested members of the Gay & Lesbian
Sierrans Section, an activity section of the Angeles Chapter of the Sierra
Club.
Leaders, provisional leaders, Management Committee members, and any subscriber
to TRACKS, the newsletter of the GLS, may subscribe, to ANGELES-GLS-FORUM.
Posting is limited to subscribers.

ANGELES-HPS-LEADERS
The purpose of this list is to communicate official Hundred Peaks Section
(HPS) leadership information to and from HPS Leaders, including:
- Solicit additional authorized hikes for the Lookout and Chapter Schedule.
- Communicate up coming cut off dates for the Lookout, Schedule etc.
and procedures for submitting outings to these publications
- Post for edit draft outing schedules to insure no errors exist.
- Two way communication between leaders for such things as finding a
partner to share leads, finding a substitute leader, etc.
All HPS "O" and "I" rated leaders, plus HPS members in the process of
becoming rated leaders may subscribe to this list.
ANGELES-OCSS-LEADERS
The purpose of this list is to have a forum for the leaders, host, staff,
and volunteers of Orange County Sierra Singles, a section of the Angeles
Chapter. It is intended as a place to share information, plan activities,
and conduct section business.
Any OCSS leader, host, staff or volunteer who subscribes to the OCSS newsletter
may subscribe to this list.
ANGELES-OUTINGS-CHAIRS
The purpose of this list is to foster communication among the chapter's
Outings Chairs and the Outings Management Committee members.
This list is limited to members of the Outings Management Committee and
Outings Chairs. It is closed to other subscribers.
ANGELES-OUTINGS-LEADERS
The purpose of this list is to provide information to existing outings
leaders in the Angeles Chapter. Information is provided by the Leadership
Training Committee of the Angeles Chapter.
Subscription is open, anyone may subscribe; however, only listowners or
listowner approved editors may post to the list.
ANGELES-POLITICAL-COMM
The purpose of this list is to facilitate communication among the members
of the Angeles Chapter Political Committee.
Only members of the Angeles Chapter Political Committee are subscribed
to this list.

CALIF-ALERTS
The CALIF-ALERTS is the "official" distribution list for the Sierra Club
California Legislative Alerts. Alerts are posted approximately once per
week during the legislative session. Subscribers may not post to the list
directly. Suggested postings of Sierra Club California activities should
be sent to the list owners at:

They will be posted at the sole discretion of the list owners.
CALIF-COASTWATCHER
This is the mailing list for California CoastWatcher, a newsletter
produced monthly. This announcement only list will also be used for occasional
alerts about the California Coast. Anyone may subscribe to this list and
receive messages, but only the editors of California CoastWatcher may
post messages. An archives of all the messages posted to this list is
available.
CCL-GROUP-CHAIRS-FORUM
This list is used by group chairs throughout the Sierra Club to discuss
issues of interest to them which will promote their effective management
of the Club's 400+ local groups. Only group chairs who are subscribed
to the CCL-GROUP-CHAIRS list may be subscribed to this list. They must
also be listed as such on the Club's on-line leader information system,
WILD, which the list owner(s) will use to validate eligibility.
CE-NEWSLETTER-EDITORS
The CE-NEWSLETTER-EDITORS list is established to support newsfeeds of
stories and other materials from the national Sierra Club to local newsletter
editors, as well as to provide for a means of discussions between those
editors among themselves and with national newsletter staff. Topics
are set to Newsfeed (to receive Sierra Club newsletter newsfeeds) and
Other (general newsletter-related discussion).
CE-SCNEWS-RELEASES
The purpose of this list is to allow the Sierra Club media team to send
news releases and advisories on Sierra Club issues and events via e-mail
to members of national and local media outlets.
CONS-CNRCC-DESERT-FORUM
This list is for unmoderated discussion of issues relating to the protection
of the desert environments of California and Nevada. Subscription is open
to the public. Posting is limited to subscribers. Postings by non-subscribers
will be reviewed and approved by the list owner before distribution.
CONS-CNRCC-FOREST-ALERTS
This list will serve as a Forest Alert list regarding state and National
forests in the CNRCC region and the protection of their resources. Subscribers
of the list will be asked to take action on an issue by calling or writing
their representatives or by attending a hearing. This is not a discussion
list.
Only active Sierra Club members may subscribe to this list. Subscribers
will receive messages, but only the editors of CONS-CNRCC-FOREST-ALERTS
may post to the list.
CONS-EQST-AIR-QUAL-FORUM
The purpose of the CONS-EQST-AIR-QUAL-FORUM list is to facilitate discussion
and exchange of information among Sierra Club members on air quality and
air pollution issues.
This Forum is open to all current Sierra Club members.
CONS-EQST-ENVIROJUSTICE-FORUM
This list is to facilitate information exchange, policy discussion, and
action alerts on topics related to environmental justice. Any Club member
may subscribe to this list. An archives of all the messages posted
to the list is available.
CONS-SPST-POPULATION-NEWS
This list is for individuals interested in receiving regular updates and
action alerts related to the Population program. Subscribers will receive
action alerts, relevant news items, updates and press releases from campaign
staff in Washington, D.C. Anyone may subscribe to this list and receive
messages, but only the editors of the list may post messages. An archive

HELP4-WEBMASTERS
Sierra Club webmasters help list. The HELP4-WEBMASTERS discussion list
is a place where Sierra Club members and others who are maintaining Sierra

or get assistance regarding the webmaster tasks/job.

Sierra Club Chapter and Group Fundraising Ideas.
SIERRACLUB-ACTION
This is the "official" distribution list for Sierra Club Currents.
Subscribers may not post to the list directly. Proposed announcements
of Sierra Club Clubwide or regional activities should be sent to the list
