The Angeles Chapter site – for a more local focus. There are lots of opportunities for those who'd like to get involved. To start, try contacting a committee or campaign of interest, or just attend one of their meetings.

The Harbor Vision Task Force "was founded in 2001 to explore ways in which the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach can grow in volume while decreasing the negative environmental and social impacts of the port."

The following organizations offer a multitude of volunteer opportunities and are a great way for group members to get involved with conservation...

The El Dorado Nature Center is one of Long Beach's gems and "is dedicated to the enhancement of wildlife habitat and the human spirit."

Save Out Beach, is a Seal Beach organization that sponsors monthly beach cleanups.

The Los Cerritos Wetlands Land Trust is dedicated to "reconnecting and restoring the estuary remnants."

The 30-Minute Beach Cleanup is a Long Beach organization that sponsors monthly beach cleanups.

Friends of the Los Angeles River have the mission to "protect and restore the natural and historic heritage of the Los Angeles River and its riparian habitat."

Bolsa Chica Conservancy advocates the "restoration and preservation of the Bolsa Chica Wetlands."

Litter Free Long Beach sponsors community cleanup events in Long Beach.
